About BINA Center for Jewish Identity and Hebrew Culture in Israel
The BINA Center is aimed at secular Jews, providing a combination of Torah study and social action, activism, volunteering and more. The word BINA means "insight", and the aim of the 5 or 10 month programs is to offer insights into mysteries of the Bible, Talmud, Philosophical works and combining this with practical actions for those coming from a secular background who may not have had exposure to textual studies before.
BINA Center for Jewish Identity and Hebrew Culture in Israel
To be able to be effective in helping those not just in Israel, but Jews overseas, one needs to have a certain amount of understanding of Jewish history. Even for those who do not identify as religious, it is important to be able to engage with Jewish texts through the generations to understand our place in the world. This yearning and thirst for knowledge even among the secular population has led the BINA Center to seek to fill this gap, as many seem curious about Jewish texts and literature, but may not choose to go to a religious institution.
